Tegar grew quickly. Big brother MikiCato was always nearby to give lessons on life.
Tegar's late nite duties include survelance of everything surrounding his world called Five Oaks Manor. He is his Mommy's protector, his Dad's escort, and he shares those duties with Miki and Rowdy with all the abandon of a healthy and happy young cat. Life is good in the South Woods.

~ A Poet's Cat ~
A poet's cat sedate and grave
As poet well could wish to have,
Was much addicted to inquire
For nooks, to which she might retire,
And where, secure as mouse in chink,
She might repose, or sit and think.
I know not where she caught the trick -
Nature perhaps had cast her
In such a mould philosophique
Or else she learn'd it of her master.
~ William Cowper ~
n the beginning our little Tegar was the new kid in the house, but that didn't last long. MikiCato, the youngest of the elder "brothers" present at Five Oaks Manor, quickly took the little one under his paw, as had Buddy Bear done for MikiCato in the past. The raising of the baby began.
Try as we might, Lisa and I were not allowed much time for training the little one. That was Miki's job, which he threw himself into with heart and soul. I might add that is a BIG heart in such a small cat.
Buddy raised Miki very well, and it can be seen now in Tegar. Miki also did an excellent job. The three are a family well raised, and well trained. I might add they have done a great job in raising and training their two humans too.
Two months after Tegar joined the family, a new addition was brought home. He was named Rowdy. With the two kittens being only a little over a month's difference in age, the tradition of the youngest raising the "new kid in the house" ended right there. But more about Rowdy in his own Album.

The old man of the house, Buddy Bear was also near at hand to help with the lessons. He was very good at kitten, sitting especially during nap time.
Tegar and Rowdy watch the birds. They learned all the kitten games. They also learned the duties of guarding their humans very well.
"Be careful of the glass. It hurts when you jump at the birds."
"Dad is taking pictures. Pretend you don't see or hear him"
"You are supposed to be watching for strangers, not sleeping!"
"Have you heard about Big Bro and his Cardinal girl friend?"
"You make picture of ME, not Lttle One!"
"My chair, NOT your chair!"
"Bartender! Refil please"
"Dad's playing with his shoelaces again!"
"I'm just resting my eyes for a few minutes. There's no one out there!"
There's more to see of Tegar, much more, and I hope you will enjoy your visit with us. Page three is next, after a short break to begin workup of the new set of pages for Tegar's little brother, Rowdy.
