~ Kitten Verses ~

A kitten with a length of string
Is such a pretty, playful thing.
A kitten with a leaf to chase
Exhibits beauty, form and grace.
But I love kittens curled up, wise
With ancient mystery in their eyes.

WEBMASTER'S NOTE:

Packrat that I am, I've carried the following introduction
over from Buddy's first Homepage on  the old
"The Wizard's Worlds of Cats Photo Album."  :^)

Buddy Bear (aka. Bosephus), although not of the same blood lines as the past "family" members,  seems to be made up of all the best traits found in Princess and her brood, as well as Sam and Samantha, and all the many other little ones we have been owned by over the years.  Buddy is a Ragamuffin mix.  Needless to say, he is my shadow, or might I say, my leader, racing through the house "leading" me wherever I go.  He has a toy box under the desk, his own pillow against the file cabinet, and several toys dangling from the arm of my executive chair where he can keep me occupied while he patrols the house, keeping an eye on his savior and first love, Miss Lisa.
Lisa first found him stuffed in
a 1 foot square cage, with 7 other
little guys, at a outdoor flea
market in the 97 degree heat of
the summer sun. Because of the
loss of her baby, Jon Tomas, she
had said "no more babies for me."
Thus ended that firm stand on life.
The trip home included a stop by
the pet section of the local
'Super-store' at a cost of $154.00.
He is a crazy little purr-box with a wonderful love of life, and his humans.  Notice the short looking tail in the picture?  Not short, but lashing wildly!  I had been teasing him with the little feather duster, and he was determined he was going to have it, no matter what.  He got it!  At this writing, he is 16 months old, and already 9 pounds.  A stocky little heart-throb with a black mustache and goatee, and the smell of catnip on his breath.

2003
Here Buddy was 19 months old and weighed 10 pounds.
And that tail is still lashing wildly.
Prior to the start of the year 2003, our camera time was minimal, due to work schedule and the frustrations brought on by the work place .... well, you don't want the details.  Safe to say we failed to save a most precious part of Buddy's life;  his kitten-hood.  For that I am deeply saddened.  My memories of the little guy's first day at home, his tricks, his antics and activities from then till the time of these first pictures you see here, all are beginning to be hazy with age, and I do wish we'd had the time to photograph him.  But you can't change the past, so be forewarned this album will be quite large, I guess to make up for loosing a part of the past.
Buddy is 10 years old as of the first of this month (June 2011), and tipped the scales last month at 12.5 pounds.  According to the folks that know, the ones who breed and raise the Ragamuffin, our Buddy is definitely one of theirs.  They say the breed continues to grow to about the 4th or 5th year.  Yes, he definitely did that quite well.
What we will see in the next few years, Lisa and I hope to be able to show you on these pages.  We now, by the way, have several cameras lying around for the sole purpose of documenting the life of the senior member of the 'Six Mouskateers of Five Oaks Manor'!

    Now!  On to the pictures.
More chatter and small talk as we go.
                      Enjoy!
